Kihong Jang is a guitar player born in Korea. When he was a teenager, he played rock and fusion until he bought a record Wes Montgomery’s ‘The Incredible of Jazz Guitar.’ He entered Dong-ah institute of media and arts where he learned general musical skills to play jazz. Although the Korea jazz scene’s lack of swing tradition, he could get the opportunities to learn by playing in many local venues and meeting visiting artists like Martijn Van Iterson and Peter Bernstein. The lesson from Peter Bernstein made him to decide to move to New York where the greatest jazz musicians are playing and living.
He graduated Queens College in 2017 autumn. He has been playing with Jinjoo Yoo, Dustin Kiselbach, Dan Von Weisselberg, Luca Rosenfeld and Doron Tirosh in many New York local venues.
